Title IX and Non-Discrimination

ESCC seeks to reduce or eliminate barriers to educational opportunity caused by sex discrimination.

Title IX Policy, updated 09.23.21 [PDF]

Title IX Complaint Form [PDF]

Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 is a federal law that states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.â€

Title IX addresses sexual harassment, gender-based discrimination, and sexual violence. Sexual violence includes attempted or completed rape or sexual assault, as well as sexual harassment, stalking, voyeurism, exhibitionism, verbal or physical sexuality-based threats or abuse, and intimate partner violence. Title IX requires the creation of educational environments absent of all forms of sex discrimination.

Students may report incidents of any of the above where the victim or perpetrator is a student, employee, or volunteer of ESCC:
