Students not eligible to complete the FAFSA are recommended to fill out the Virginia Financial Aid application and find up to date information concerning State Aid.

The VASA website also provides students with information and tools to compare colleges, explore the differences between 2-year colleges, 4-year colleges, certificate programs, trade schools and apprenticeships.

Males over 18 must be registered with Selective Service to receive state student aid.

Colleges and universities offer Tuition Promise Programs to make college more affordable for students,particularly those from lower-income families. These programs are designed with the promise of covering the cost of tuition, and in some cases, additional fees, significantly reducing the financial barrier to obtaining a college degree. Eligibility is unique to each college or university.
